The Role: Administrative Assistant

Kanin Energy is seeking an Administrative Assistant to support administrative operations and business development activities. This role reports directly to the Senior Business Operations Administrator.  We are looking for a highly motivated, organized professional who enjoys working collaboratively in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment. The ideal candidate is passionate about energy, sustainability, and climate change mitigation, and is excited to contribute within a start-up setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative support for accounting functions, including expense processing, month-end activities, and financial reporting.
  • Oversee office management tasks for a growing team operating in a hybrid work environment.
  • Collaborate with various business units to ensure timely completion of assigned tasks.
  • Prepare meeting materials and provide general meeting coordination and support.
  • Assist leadership with calendar management and scheduling, as needed.
  • Work with the Engineering Team to coordinate meetings, manage administrative reports, and support application processes.
  • Assist with travel planning and booking, including flights, accommodations, car rentals, and itineraries.
  • Perform other administrative duties as required.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience in an administrative or coordination-focused role.
  • Post-secondary education in a relevant discipline.
  • Strong interest in clean energy, sustainability, and climate initiatives.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a proactive, self-starter attitude.
  • Experience working in energy is a bonus

Working Conditions:

  • This is a part-time, in-office and hybrid position, averaging approximately 20 hours per week.
