The Role: Senior Project Engineer

Reporting to the Senior Project Manager, the Senior Project Engineer will execute Waste Heat to Power (WHP) and other decarbonization projects for Kanin.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Drive execution of project activities through project scope definition, FEED, detailed engineering, construction, and commissioning 
  • Develop and manage project charters, cost estimates, spend profiles, schedules, interconnection applications, vendor RFQs, third-party engineering services, grant applications, procurement deliverables, construction deliverables, and more 
  • Coordinate & run project meetings with client partners, project financiers, suppliers, EP/EPC firms, service providers, etc. 
  • Manage EPC(M) engineering, procurement, and construction execution 
  • Prepare and present weekly reports on project status to client partners 
  • Travel to field sites across North America 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 5 to 10 years of relevant experience coordinating industrial power/electrical projects or similar projects 
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, or related Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree 
  • Canadian or American Professional Engineer  
  • Self-driven person with strong analytic & problem-solving skills 
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills

Assets/Differentiators:

  • Experience with distributed energy projects 
  • Field or site experience 
  • EPC(M), project developer, and/or electrical utility experience 
  • Experience with transmission/distribution interconnection applications  
  • Experience with power flow modelling
