Director of Business Development  

Calgary, Canada / Permanent Full-time

Kanin Energy is searching for a Director of Business Development to support the Commercial Development team and report to the Chief Development Officer. The candidate will be a highly motivated business development professional that will help the team unlock new opportunities in several key industries and strategic areas. Preference is given to candidates located in Houston.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Setting goals and developing plans for business and revenue growth
  • Build strategic relationships with potential partners
  • Research industry trends to help determine areas of opportunity and further develop our thesis on the market and its competitive landscape
  • Planning, and implementing new target market initiatives
  • Researching prospective accounts in target markets
  • Pursuing leads and moving them through the sales cycle
  • Developing presentations and proposals for prospective clients
  • Setting goals for the business development team and developing strategies to meet those goals
  • Attend conferences and industry events to promote Kanin

Ideal Candidate:

  • Undergraduate or graduate degree in relevant field
  • Experience working in energy or heavy industry
  • Interest and passion for clean energy and sustainability
  • Entrepreneurial and self-starter attitude
  • Engineering or technical knowledge a bonus
