Director of Business Development  

Calgary, Canada / Permanent Full-time

Kanin Energy is searching for a Director of Business Development to support the Commercial Development team and report to the Chief Development Officer. The candidate will be a highly motivated business development professional that will help the team unlock new opportunities in several key industries and strategic areas. Preference is given to candidates located in Houston or Calgary.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Setting goals and developing plans for business and revenue growth
  • Build strategic relationships with potential partners
  • Research industry trends to help determine areas of opportunity and further develop our thesis on the market and its competitive landscape
  • Planning, and implementing new target market initiatives
  • Researching prospective accounts in target markets
  • Pursuing leads and moving them through the sales cycle
  • Developing presentations and proposals for prospective clients
  • Setting goals for the business development team and developing strategies to meet those goals
  • Attend conferences and industry events to promote Kanin

Ideal Candidate:

  • Undergraduate or graduate degree in relevant field
  • Experience working in energy or heavy industry
  • Interest and passion for clean energy and sustainability
  • Entrepreneurial and self-starter attitude
  • Engineering or technical knowledge a bonus
